KBBQ dinner with a good exhaust system [Elk Grove CA] Suggested by a friend of ours who is local from Elk Grove we came here for dinner, party of 8. Actually, three friends from our party are from Elk Grove. The building from the outside is wide and inside is equally spacious and well-spaced. The restaurant has a family-style setting. We were given two tables towards the corner and we proceeded to place our orders with the waitress assigned to us. In reality our very own "grill masters" selected the food for us --- the menu has a wide variety of meats to choose from: pork, beef, chicken and seafood. We shared side dishes, called "banchan." Everything was delicious and flavorful. One thing I noticed was that they have a great ventilation (or exhaust) system because I came out of there not smelling like food! That thing just effectively sucked the smoke, grease, and other cooking odors from the grill LoL! The servers were efficient in emptying our table of used dinnerware. Our main waitress was nice and friendly and just knows when we're ready for our next rounds. Now I'm no connoisseur of Korean BBQ dining but I was pleased with our first time dining experience at Ember's. Review #3732

Overall: 3.3 (Food contributes the most to my scoring) -Not a bad choice for KBBQ, it is a little far from where I live so I probably would not be returning anytime soon. But decent nonetheless. Food: 3.5 -Nothing really stood out to me, it was all just expected, normal KBBQ items and tastes. The best bites we had were probably the angus ribeye, beef tongue, and the marinated rib fingers. The banchan could be better. The free popsicles were nice. -A lot of the items are not marinated, which means you are relying on the dipping sauces to provide most of the flavor. Service: 4.5 -Our server was attentive, granted we were 1 of 8 tables at the time and I think they had 3 or 4 servers. They did also gave me the wrong item once, but fixed it immediately after I pointed it out. Ambiance: 4 -I like the darker colors, the wall decors, and our booth were all great, the metal pipes that runs to every table is a little bit of an eye sore but they are a necessity to combat the smoke.

My wife and I were looking for a date night spot nearby, but everywhere we originally wanted to go was closed. She suggested Ember Korean BBQ, but I was hesitant at first since it's a newer spot in the region and I'm already familiar with other KBBQ places. I initially thought Ember might just be a knock-off of my preferred choices--but I was completely wrong. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was excellent. The servers were attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The meat quality was impressive, and although there was a bit of a wait for the first round of meat (which made me wonder if it was a tactic to fill us up beforehand), everything after that was spot-on. One standout was the Angus Ribeye Steak. I wasn't excited about ordering it since I've been disappointed by the same cut at other KBBQ spots, but Ember changed my mind. While not perfect, it was far more tender and marbled than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise--especially for an AYCE place. And I have to mention Ember's house sauce--it was absolutely perfect! I wish I could take some home. Overall, the experience was great. The food, service, and ambiance made for a fantastic date night, and we'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend giving Ember a try!

2nd time coming here and now I can confirm this is by far the best Korean bbq spot in Elk Grove!! There's a lot of good kbbq spots in Elk Grove but I have to say the atmosphere, service good quality meats and the best is the cold noodles, popcorn chicken and all the sauces that comes with it. They are all so good! My best go to meat is the rib eye and rib fingers! Def don't sleep on the rib fingers!! 10 star to the server Derek D!

Service was great. Food was delish. I will return. I had the short rib/Galbi Loved the cucumbers/kimchi

Came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday and I must say, I was very impressed with the place. The restaurant is big and perfect for big parties. Every employee we encountered was so nice and welcoming. Not a bad attitude in sight. Our grill was never left empty. We never had to wait for the next round of meats, they kept the food and drinks rolling in and changed our grill when needed. The food tasted great, we kept ordering rounds of brisket, short ribs, and bulgogi. Their Yuza blonde beer is really good and loved their sauces, especially the spicy sambal. Overall, great experience! I definitely recommend this place and will be a returning customer.

Ember KBBQ is located in the Ross/Hobby Lobby/Burlington Coat Factory plaza on the Burlington Coat Factory side and next to Bath and Body Works. Love the ambience and decor of this place. It's also very spacious and well ventilated. There was a group of 13 of us here for a friend's birthday. It was my first time at Ember and most the group has been here before and love it. I can see why and I too am a fan. The variety and quality of the food here is great. They have a great selection of appetizers, sides/ban chans, sauces, meats, and flavors of icecream to choose from. Shoutout to our server, Anna. She was amazing and took great care of us. I definitely recommend and look forward to coming back again.

Spacious with well lowered vents for KBBQ. The staff and our server was superrrrr nice & gave great recommendations. He was very attentive and checked up on us just enough and when we needed to order he would pop up! Food was yummy! The kimchi jeon appetizer was so crispy good! I got 2! Love that they offer beef tongue and intestines as part of their meats! Only thing is that we didn't like was the limit to 3 apps and 3 meats but it's ok as our server was quick to take our next order. Also, ramen was flavorful but wished their was a non spicy version although they only had the non spicy cold noodles available. Overall, our tummies left extremely happy & would definitely come again when we are in the area.

Place is still decent but there has been some changes since their opening. At $32.99 pp you get all the protein options no upgrades for different types of meat like some other locations. Came on a Friday night around 7:30 with the family and we waited about 20-25 mins for party of 3. Not too bad in our opinion. Our server was friendly and super attentive. Our first round of orders came out super fast. All our apps and proteins we ordered along with the sides came out at once. So we got to the cooking while munching on our appetizers. Quality and quantity is reasonable. Their seasoned meats are seasoned just enough. Nice cuts easy to grill and they do provide scissors for bigger cuts. They provide multiple tongs as well. Our 2nd round of proteins, however, took a while. But our sever peeped his eyes out to our table as I noticed and he took action quick and made sure to come over to tell us that he called the food host to bring it out that instant. He apologized and informed us a lot of food severs were on break and the kitchen was behind. We appreciated that he told us to keep us informed. Their popcorn chicken and Parmesan cheese fries are so bomb! Almost better than some boba shops. Gave their kimchi soup another chance and still too tangy and sour and it's only tofu and the kimchi, no seafood or anything. Egg soufflé was okay. My. Mom obviously wished it had more taste to it. They have kimchi pancakes as an appetizer which is nice. Not a lot of these KBBQ has it. We gave it another try and it didn't deliver though. Crunchy on the edges but soggy in the middle. When you order the veggies, just note it's just onions, sliced mushroom, zucchini, and pineapple and you don't get too much. I like that their lettuce wraps are included in the price. It's not an additional fee. What I like about this KBBQ is that their vents are adjustable and you can bring it lower so the smoke in front of you gets fully absorbed. Some KBBQ places leave you smelling like bbq but this place doesn't. The space is ima pretty open concept. Parking is spacious as it's in a shopping center plaza. We would return, but not my first option. Can't go wrong here though. Highlight of dining here is there included dessert. They have Melona ice cream! Haha it was definitely a nice treat. If you know Melona ice cream, then you know. lol

The service was quick we did not wait long for table. They have lots appetizer options such as fried rice, popcorn chicken, and fries. I like the condiments they offer such as rice paper, lettuce wraps, grilled veggies. Gratuity was automatically added to bill for our party of 6. They have various popsicle and sherbet dessert options. Overall everything is pretty tasty the servers are quick bringing food and refilling drinks. Pro tip: the floor feels greasy I suggest not wearing high heels. Otherwise the place is great. There is a large bar along the back area as well.
